Canada Grease Traps Market Definition

Grease traps or Grease interceptors, converters, catchers, grease recovery/management devices, or FOG traps are other names for grease traps, which have been in use for a long time. Grease accumulates at the top of the interceptor where it is captured by a baffle mechanism.

Wastewater from the kitchen sinks is drawn into the trap more slowly thanks to the baffles within. This gives the oils, water, and food particles in the unit time to settle and separate. A trap on the outlet keeps FOGs from passing straight through the unit; instead, the FOGs and food particles are held inside the unit, enabling cleaner water to pass through. As the retained waste builds up over time, frequent maintenance and garbage removal for environmental disposal will be required. The efficiency of a grease trap is influenced by a variety of elements, such as design, kitchen location, drainage systems, size, and cooking procedures. Every place and situation is different. Between 50% and 90% of the FOGs that enter a single-stage grease trap are typically retained. The majority of commercial grease traps have only one chamber. A single-stage grease trap is supplemented by the installation of a biological grease dosing system, or two or more units can be employed in tandem, with each unit or chamber separating between 50% and 90% of the FOGs that enter it, to boost the effectiveness of grease control and management.
